John Pierpont Morgan is synonymous with banking in America. He was a man so influential that he single-handedly stopped a financial panic and even loaned gold to the federal government. Our Morgan shirt is a member of a series of shirts inspired by the magnates of the industrial and progressive eras. Though sometimes controversial, these people have come to symbolize the eminence and responsibility that talent and diligent work can deliver. The Morgan is the definitive banker style shirt. It has a rich blue banker stripe and is cut from a luxurious 140s yarn count, 2-ply Egyptian cotton. It also features our new deep contrast cutaway collar.

Fabric

Egyptian cotton is a particular variety that is grown in only a few other places. It is renowned as some of the best in the world. It has an extra long staple, which means it has longer fibers, resulting in a silkier, more durable fabric.Poplin, sometimes called broadcloth, is a plain weave which means the threads alternately cross over and then under each other. This results in a very smooth and durable fabric that has an almost silky hand feel, particularly with higher thread counts. Also, poplins look very crisp when ironed.
