Space Venus is a stunning and provocative sculpture that merges classical beauty with surrealist innovation. This piece reimagines the iconic Venus de Milo through Dalí’s unique artistic vision, combining traditional elegance with unexpected, dreamlike elements.

The sculpture portrays Venus, the goddess of love and beauty, with her classical form altered in surreal ways by featuring four Dalinian symbols: a soft watch, ants, an egg and a separation of the body into two parts.
A large highly polished golden egg sits on the torso, symbolizing creation, fertility, and the mysteries of life. Balanced upon Venus's head is a soft clock, a direct reference to Dalí’s celebrated "The Persistence of Memory." This watch conveys the fluidity of time and the surreal interplay between permanence and impermanence. On the clock face the numbers five and eleven are missing, did Dalí wish to indicate the date he was born?

Strategically positioned crawling ants, another well known Dalinian symbol suggest decay and disintegration.

Space Venus challenges traditional notions of beauty and perfection, inviting us to contemplate themes of transformation, the passage of time, and the interplay between the classical and the avant-garde. It stands as a testament to Dalí’s ability to blend timeless mythology with his revolutionary artistic imagination.

The one thing the world will never have enough of is the outrageous
- Salvador Dalí

The sculpture is a part of a limited edition series of 350, created and authorized by Salvador Dali, documented in the Catalogue Raisonné of Dalí's sculptures.
